Igne
With decades of experience supporting the renewable energy sector, Igne has established itself as a trusted partner in ensuring the seamless transition of energy from offshore installations to onshore facilities. Our array of services encompasses site investigation, construction materials testing, and unexploded ordnance risk mitigation, all tailored to meet the unique demands of the offshore energy sector and its partners.
Igne, in conjunction with Stockton Drilling Limited and Waterman Infrastructure & Environment Limited, successfully completed a comprehensive ground investigation for the innovative White Cross Offshore Wind Farm, situated approximately 50km off the North Devon coast.
The investigation, which plays a crucial role in the delivery of the pioneering project which will feature seven floating wind turbine generators, was carried out at the landfall site of Saunton Sands beach car park and along an 8km route to Yelland, passing through various sensitive environmental and agricultural terrains.
ForeCoast Marine by JBA Consulting
ForeCoast® Marine is a strategic and operational planning software system used by project designers, developers, owners and operators to design, optimise and manage complex offshore wind projects. It was developed in-house in the UK by JBA Consulting (JBA) – a family of environmental, engineering and risk management companies and one of the world’s leading consultancies in this field. It is used to reduce downtime risks and costs for Transport and Installation as well as Operations and Maintenance from early prefeed project stages. Users can licence the software for inhouse simulating and optimising, or invite experienced consultants to provide project support and expertise.
ForeCoast® Marine has been utilised by Inch Cape to inform the project’s offshore installation phases and help shape the design of the project. The software system has simulated the project’s key offshore asset-component installation phases including: foundations, inter-array cables, offshore substation platforms, export cables and wind turbine generators.
