Dangle we’re tasked with preforming a close visual inspection on a onshore Windfarm in Texas USA. The turbines were 2.3MW Siemens and having our own LOTO trained personnel took full control of the towers (with prior approval from EON) to safely pin the blades and preform our inspections. Upon reporting findings EON representatives would decided if damages were needing repaired. Typically repairs included lighting strikes and gun shot holes through laminations and often core material replacement and LPS troubleshooting.
