Case studies
New installation of 50+ turbines in the North Sea off the East coast of Scotland. The Foundations for each Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) and two Offshore Transformer Modules (OSS) shall be steel jackets supported on piles. The piles will be installed by drilling sockets into the seabed with the piles themselves deployed through sacrificial casings.

During installation of a 31 Monopile Offshore Wind Farm off the coast of Germany, a 20m diameter Mono Bucket Fundament (MBF) was damaged. The MBF was abandoned with Ashtead Technology contracted to provide a solution to remove from site.

Ashtead worked with the client to provide a bespoke 1.9m OD hole cutter which also secured the cut piece for recovery. The cut holes allowed access for a bespoke 10" OD x 25m long Air Lift Dredging Tool. The soil inside the MBF bucket was dredged to reduce friction then the MBF was removed in one piece.
