Hydracrat is one of Scotland's leading ground investigation contractors, providing borehole drilling services for geotechnical exploration and geothermal.
Hydracrat was founded in February 1960, and has a rich industrial history in Scotland. Between the 1970s and early 2000s, the business was heavily involved in ground investigation to facilitate opencast coal sites, especially during the 1970s and 1980s when the business held an exclusive contract with the National Coal Board.
Hydracrat's drilling fleet is renowned throughout the drilling industry. Known as HYCATs, their wide-track low ground pressure characteristics allow us to access remote and often soft, boggy terrain without the need for access roads to be constructed.
We are the ideal candidate for any ground investigation work needed to facilitate the construction of onshore substations/control rooms, etc.
