Underwater structural repair of steel support jacket.
Contract type: Consultant supporting client organisation
Value: £1 million
A significant defect/structural failure was reported during an underwater inspection campaign. A repair clamp was required to reinstate the structural integrity of a tubular steel member within a large steel support structure. The work required overseeing detailed design of the clamp and contracting of diving services to be deployed from a bespoke diving support vessel. The installation methodology and detailed procedures were developed in conjunction with the diving contractor. The vessel campaign was managed on behalf of the client and this delivered a safe, cost effective solution to an exacting technical standard. The H&SE / UK Regulator was satisfied with the outcome.
