Case studies

We have a Framework Agreement with Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) to provide submarine power cable installation; repair and inspection work on the entire transmission and distribution network of submarine cables. This agreement sees Briggs maintaining 120 subsea cables spanning over 500km in length, with water depths ranging from shoreline to 300 metres. Many of these installations are situated in areas of extreme tidal currents, such as Mossbank to Yell in the Shetland Islands. This experience has demonstrated success in our risk-based approach to complex and challenging cable installations.

Briggs Marine commenced working on shallow water repair solutions in association with Balfour Beatty T&D.
