Forth & Tay Offshore, Robert Gordon University and ITCC invite you to a focused breakfast briefing and innovation showcase exploring how advanced fibre rope technologies and seabed-focused innovation can support the deployment, monitoring, and productivity of floating offshore wind projects in the North Sea.

This event will bring together industry, academia, and innovation partners to showcase practical, near-term applications of fibre rope technologies for floating wind, alongside emerging collaboration opportunities around seabed mapping, monitoring, and data-driven innovation.

The session is designed to be highly practical, supporting industry understanding of where these technologies can deliver value today, and how collaborative R&D and pilot projects could be shaped for future deployment.

Key Focus Areas

  • Fibre rope innovation for offshore wind and floating structures
  • Seabed interaction and monitoring challenges in floating wind
  • Productivity, safety, and efficiency gains through new materials and design
  • Collaboration opportunities across industry, academia, and innovation partners
  • Pathways to pilot projects and consortia, particularly in the North Sea context

What Attendees Will Gain

  • Insight into next-generation fibre rope technologies and their application in floating wind
  • Practical understanding of how these innovations interact with seabed conditions and offshore operations
  • Opportunities to connect with RGU, ITCC and Cluster members
  • Early visibility of potential collaborative projects and consortia, particularly linked to North Sea research and deployment
