Case studies
Capital Project for Installation of a Bi-metallic Strip Induction Heat treatment Process for continuous running, which replaced an outdated Fluidised Bed Process which was highly in-efficient and costly.
Contract type: Capital Installation Project
Value: £2.2M
Project Management from Scoping out the Project Deliverables to Final Commission & Validation. Significant research was required to identify alternative solutions to the existing Heat Treatment Process and establish the best solution and suppliers to deliver the project objectives. Justifying the Capital spend to corporate as per company procedure and managing the Project Team & Contractors to deliver the project on time and in budget.
Capital Installation for a 1 Ton Induction Melting Furnace with the purpose of melting and supply molten alloy to 4-off Gas Holding Furnaces. The objective was to negate the need to 'hand-load' material ingots directly into the Gas Holding Furnaces to remove manual handling concerns and also to speed up the melting time and increase casting capacity.
Contract type: Capital Installation Project
Value: £700K
Project Management from Scoping out the Project Deliverables to Final Commission & Validation. This project also involved the decommissioning and demolition of other furnaces to allow for this process to be installed. Therefore, this project was required to comply with Construction Design and Management Regulations which led to various surveys and assessments prior to any demolition to ensure Health & Safety was paramount at all times.
