Gartsherrie Engineering utilises the latest in fabrication and welding techniques to manufacture components and structures in a wide variety of materials.
Our highly skilled welders are approved to ASME IX, BS EN ISO 9606 and AWS D1.1 standards. Our fabrication department specialises in heavy plate and section, small to large size fabrications across many engineering sectors. Many of the fabrications we produce are critical structures requiring specialist WPS, coded welders, NDT and comprehensive MRB documentation packages.
At Gartsherrie Engineering we pride ourselves on the quality and experience of our fabricators and welders producing a wide variety of structures up to 40 tonne (many with over 30 years in the industry and with Gartsherrie). Work undertaken ranges from large batches of simple fabrications to large complex structures for the international Oil & Gas, Power, Industrial, Renewables, Mining and Automotive industries.
• Qualified welding (ASME IX, BS EN ISO, AWS)
• EN 1090 CE Qualified
• Up to 40 tonne lifting capacity
• NDT and documentation packages
• Welder training – qualifying PQR`s, WPS`s & welder competence
Gartsherrie Engineering has continued to invest and develop its machine shop to meet the specialist needs of the markets that we serve producing precision-engineered products on time and on spec.
Extensively tooled to meet an ever-changing market, the machine shop is a modern CNC facility with machine tools capable of producing intricate and tolerance critical parts; from one off prototypes to medium volume production runs. Gartsherrie Engineering supply machined parts to a wide spectrum of industries including oil & gas, pump & turbine, energy & power, subsea, renewables, automotive and mining equipment. Our on-site machine shop is an integral part of supporting the fabrication part of the business. In-house machining guarantees greater control over costs and lead times.
Our extensive precision machining capabilities include:
• *ALL NEW* Double Column Machining Centre
• *ALL NEW* Vertical Machining Centre
• CNC Turning
• CNC Vertical Turning
• CNC Milling – Vertical & Horizontal
• CNC Horizontal Boring
• Conventional Turning & Milling
• Radial Arm Drilling
LASER
Our Trumpf Laser is capable of achieving +/- 0.1mm positional tolerance with an excellent cut quality. This can remove the necessity for second operation machining. The laser operates at a cut quality which is not attainable through any punch press or flame cut operation. Semi-automatic sheet loading holds and positions material accurately, minimising handling and reducing costs. With a bed utilising 3m x 1.5m sheet size, our laser machine can cut thicknesses of: 20mm Mild Steel, 12mm Stainless Steel, and 10mm Aluminium.
FORMING
With our Trumpf Trumabend V130 CNC Press Brake, we further enhance our metal forming capability. The V130’s 3m working length and 144 tonne bending force covers almost all internal fabrication and customer requirements. Our 250 tonne Pearson Power Press is perfectly suited to the heavier requirements of larger fabrications.
SHOTBLASTING AND COATING SERVICES
Shotblasting and coating services to NORSOK M-501 standard as well as other customer specific bespoke standards. Commonly used coating systems are Interzone and Belzona, with Powder Coating also available.
This further supplements our capability to offer a complete turnkey and single source service to our customer base. We are able to provide NACE level ll inspection, ensuring parts are finished to exacting standards and approvals.

Case studies
We have recently been involved in the manufacturing of precision cnc machined components for a wind turbine. The company produce a small on-shore turbine and we made the parts required.
Contract type: Sub-Contract CNC manufacturing
Value: £2k
We made the parts to exact drawing spec, with full inspection
