Case studies
Environmental Support for Talbot Field Development (2019 & 2021). Talbot is a discovered light-oil and associated gas resource opportunity containing an accumulation of <50 MMBOE located approximately 20 km southeast of the Judy platform. ConocoPhillips was awarded the licence area, UKCS Block 30/13e, covering the Talbot Discovered Resource Opportunity (DRO) in 2018 and is currently undertaking front-end engineering with the intent of developing the Talbot Field.

The scope of work related to ConocoPhillips Talbot field included ENVID workshop, early stakeholder consultation support, oil spill modelling, noise modelling, energy and emissions, shipping survey (vessel traffic), Environmental Inpact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Statement (ES) support, post ES support and permitting support to enable operations planned for Talbot Field Development.

Since 2019, BMT has provided a secondee to support Harbour’s Decommissioning operations in their southern North Sea fields. The work involves producing Environmental Assessment Justifications (EAJs) and appropriate Subsidiary Application Templates (SATs) to support decommissioning activities from well shutdown to removal of infrastructure, as well as creation and management of an appropriate Permits, Licenses and Authorisations, Notifications and Concents (PLANC).
