We specialise in Electrical, Instrumentation & Control site construction and commissioning services, primarily in the high pressure gas industry. Our base in Ayr is a bespoke workshop for strategic offsite fabrication and build of Control and Switchgear Packages, Kiosks and Panel manufacture. We carry out Hazardous Area installations and inspections. Our thinking as a business is very much geared towards Energy Futures, in particular Hydrogen and we are already training our workforce and developing our knowledge base considerably in this regard.

- I am also part of a family business call H K Gillies (CES) based in Irvine. They are a structural steel fabricator who work hand in hand with myself, so I tend to be able to provide more services than just a typical E, C & I contractor. Due to the nature of our works we work hand in hand with various civils contractors across Scotland.
Case studies
Delivery for the E, C & I disciplines on the Gas to the West Project. The works comprise the creation of a HP/ IP and LP network infrastructure between Portadown and Enniskillen that will supply Natural Gas into the Western Counties of Northern Ireland.

I was responsible for the follow on the works; • third party liaison and co-ordination; • all aspects of design management from Conceptual, Detailed and PS6 on HP transmission system. Inclusive of HAZOP and HAZCON Formal Process Safety Assessments; • construction & commissioning of all system packages. Inclusive of Intake Kiosks, Cathodic Protection T/R Kiosks, Control Room Buildings and Fit-Out, Telemetry, Metering and FWACV systems and site installations works.
Site upgrades of Northern Gas Networks infrastructure.

Value: Circa £2M per annum from 2013-18
Management of all E, C & I planning, design and delivery. The project works comprise typically of site rebuilds of NGN AGI’s and Offtakes, Heating Package installations, Metering, Gas Holder demolition and LP storage, HP storage demolition, Cathodic Protection pipeline relife, and all other varieties of E/C/I gas network upgrades. Project management of all associated mechanical and civil works was also included in this remit.
