Case studies

Japan WTG and OSP bottom fixed wind foundation concept screening: Wind farm to be installed in Japan in water depth ranging from 20m to 55m to produce between 250MW and 500MW in total, depending on the final selection of the turbine model and site layout.

Contract type: Lump Sum

Value: 130,000

Foundation concept review study for bottom fixed wind foundations for WTG (wind turbine generator) and OSP (offshore substation platform) for a Japanese wind farm. This included review of piled and drilled foundations for both jacket and monopile solutions in a location with exposed and near-exposed rock formations.

10MW and 15MW Floater Hydrodynamics and Coupled Analysis: Floating Energy Systems Ltd (FESL) have developed the Stinger Keel Concept to address the needs of the emerging floating offshore wind turbine market. It applies established concepts in offshore floating structures to create a novel, patented deep water foundation structure design that is passively ballasted and assembled at quayside.

Contract type: Lump Sum

Value: Confidential

2H Offshore has provided engineering services to Floating and Energy Systems Ltd (FESL) to perform the hydrodynamic for their conceptual floating foundation designs for 10MW and 15MW wind turbines. 2H conducted the diffraction analysis on the platforms to obtain the hydrodynamic database such as displacement and load RAOs. 2H has also done the mooring analysis and developed several mooring options for the floaters. 2H performed global coupled analysis for the platform, mooring and wind turbine system to evaluate platform and turbine performance under various environmental/design conditions. 2H assisted FESL for the wave tank testing of the 15MW floater foundation, processing the data collected during the tank testing and calibrating the hydrodynamic model based on tank test results.
