Case studies

Company X(a renewable energy system provider) approached Craig International with a similar objective to most operators and service companies which was to reduce number of contracts and vendors whilst ensuring continuity of supply and streamline processes. Company X's approach was different in the fact that they did not want to only target their “tail-spend” but also apply it to their commodity spend.

Contract type: Term Agreement

Value: £3 Million per annum

Craig International tendered successful to supply 11 key commodities. Craig International procurement of these commodities achieved savings for Company X in excess of £100K in the first 6 months of the contract. In addition to the procurement of the commodities, Craig International have cleansed material master data to ensure efficient transaction of future purchases and now have over 6,000 fixed price items that are available for call off at any time. CI review and evaluate Company X purchase history quarterly and additional items added to fixed pricing.

Craig International were initially awarded a Frame Agreement from Company Y(an engineering and project management company) for the Provision of Tools, MRO and Supply House Services for their Clair Ridge hook up and commission Project in early 2016. Following on from the success of the Clair Ridge Hook Up, Craig International were then awarded a Corporate Agreement across all Company Y business units worldwide and the business continues to grow. Craig International were asked to review Company Y processes to identify opportunities for standardisation, improved control, increased efficiency and cost reduction across the business units.

Contract type: Frame Agreement

Value: £2.6 Million per annum

Following a review of their working processes Craig International implemented the following : • Created a bespoke Ebuy* page • Implemented Smartbuyer* for all RFQ’s • Setup bespoke approval workflows within Ebuy giving Company Y the controls required to manage the spend, achieve greater cost control, realise savings and standardise supply.
