Donut International Ltd has a 30-year history dedicated to the safety of all workers in the oil and gas, renewables, marine and construction industries; both offshore and onshore. Donut personal control descent device products are Made in Britain and endorsed by safety professionals globally, from individual operators to the largest multinational organisations.
Donut Devices are the industry standard and market-leading products intended for the last means of escape in the event of an emergency for Offshore Platform Escape – since the UK North Sea Piper Alpha disaster. In the subsequent 1990 report by Lord Cullen the Donut System was recommended to be specified in the regulations for escape equipment.
We support Offshore Wind Farm operators as their Offshore Substations and floating structures are similar to O&G platforms – elevated work position, hostile environment and workers may have escape into the water or to a liferaft. The Donut Device should be considered as a complimentary part of the Escape-to-Liferaft System on board. It’s is designed to work in conjunction with the Survival Suits, Life Jackets and Life Raft equipment provisioned .
Our relationship with the renewables industry goes back 10 years; having supplied to numerous projects and many operators.
There are tens of thousands of Units in operational use worldwide. Many, many, workers in the Offshore and Marine Industries worldwide have been trained on the devices either as basic users or as instructors.
Donut Devices will last over 25 years and are a low cost solution for emergency escape. We can use case studies to show financial advantages over time. They can be transferred across assets.
They can also be used for Casualty Rescue, unlike other systems (ladders and chutes).
They are portable so can be used from any safe area.
Donut Devices are also used on Marine vessels for escape to a deployed liferaft. Offshore crane operators can use to lower themselves to the deck – or be rescued
