Case studies

Provision of corrosion protection for steel jacket structure for OW development offshore Germany.

Contract type: Corrosion Inhibitor Chemical supply

Value: 60,000

Supply of RX-5720 Corrosion inhibitor to protect carbon steel ballast compartments of the jacket strucure which will be seawater flooded when in situ. Most applicable corrosion protection method was to anchor solid chemical in water soluble wrapping during the construciton phase in Spain. The chemical remains dormant until the ballast compartment is flooded with seawater when situated in the windfarm array in German waters. When the ballast compartment is flooded, the water soluble wrapping is breached and the chemical disperses throughout the seawater and protects the wetted surfaces of the tank. Essentially turning the seawater into the inhibitor.

Supply of RX-5720 corrosion inhibitor for Equinor, Johan Sverdrup Phase 1 and Phase 2 for jacket legs corrosion mitigation.

Contract type: Corrosion Inhibitor Chemical supply

Value: £250,000

Supply of RX-5720 Corrosion inhibitor to protect carbon steel jacket legs for oilfield application in the north sea, which will be seawater flooded when in situ. Most applicable corrosion protection method was to anchor solid chemical in water soluble wrapping during the construciton phase in at Kvaerner in Verdal. The chemical remains dormant until the jacket leg is flooded with seawater when in situ offshore Norway. When the jacket is seawater flooded, the water soluble wrapping is breached and the chemical disperses throughout the seawater and protects the wetted surfaces of the tank. Essentially turning the seawater into the inhibitor
