Meet the Buyer with SSE Renewables

Companies are being invited to bid for work on Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm.

SSE Renewables is offering a range of contracts for the building of Seagreen off the coast of Fife. It will be one of the most significant construction projects undertaken in Scotland.

SSE Renewables will host events around the country enabling local companies to learn more about the opportunities on offer, and meet the Seagreen team and its principal contractors. Available to book here, the Seagreen Meet the Buyer events will take place on:

5 November - Inverness

6 November - Aberdeen

7 November - Dundee

Once completed, the project will inherit the crown of SSE Renewables’ other Scottish wind farm, Beatrice, and become Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm.

Seagreen is situated more than 27km off the Angus coastline and is expected to contribute over £2 billion to the UK economy, of which £1bn could be in Scotland alone.

Up to 114 MHI Vestas wind turbines will make up the site, providing around 5,000GWh annually of clean, low carbon renewable energy for around one million homes and saving around two million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

John Hill, Seagreen project director at SSE Renewables, said: “We want members of the Scottish supply chain to have the opportunity to work with us.

“We were very grateful to have been able to work with so many expert Scottish companies on Beatrice and we hope to replicate that local partnership success on Seagreen.”
