Eastgate Engineering is proud to announce that its CEO and founder, David Brennan, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the International category of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Ireland 2026. Selected as one of just 24 finalists from hundreds of applicants across Ireland, this recognition highlights Brennan’s exceptional leadership and significant impact on the engineering and construction industry.
This prestigious nomination comes during a period of sustained growth for Eastgate Engineering. Over the past two years, the company has achieved several major milestones, further strengthening its position as a leader in its sector.
Key developments include the appointment of a new board of directors to enhance governance and strategic oversight, further expansion into the UK market with a new office in Warrington, and significant upgrades to its facilities in Teesside and Waterford. Eastgate has also successfully delivered a number of landmark projects across multiple sectors.
The company’s achievements have been recognised through a series of industry accolades, including Tees Business of the Year 2026, Irish Construction Industry Awards Engineering Firm of the Year, and Velocitees Fastest Growing Business.
The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme is a globally recognised initiative with a 40-year legacy, operating across nearly 60 countries. It celebrates entrepreneurs who demonstrate innovation, resilience, and purpose-driven leadership.
Finalists become part of an influential network of more than 680 alumni in Ireland, representing a group of business leaders who collaborate and share insights. Collectively, this alumni network generates €28 billion in annual turnover, employs over 275,000 people, and maintains strong inter-company collaboration.
As part of the programme, David Brennan will travel to Toronto to attend the exclusive CEO Retreat. This prestigious international gathering brings together finalists from around the world for a week of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and leadership development. The retreat offers a unique platform for exchanging ideas, building global connections, and gaining strategic insights from some of the world’s most accomplished entrepreneurs.
Commenting on the announcement, David said:
“It is a real honour to be recognised alongside some of Ireland’s most inspiring and innovative companies. This achievement reflects the dedication and ambition of the entire Eastgate team. I’m looking forward to the CEO Retreat in Toronto and the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with fellow finalists from around the world.”
While the recognition celebrates David Brennan’s leadership, it also acknowledges the collective effort, talent, and commitment of the entire Eastgate Engineering team.
